South-Western Brain Bank in Bristol, UK. View of the storage facility for over 700 plastic cartons of brain tissue from individuals who have suffered from brain-related disease, and also from those who have donated their brains to the facility as control specimens. The brains are split into the two hemispheres of which one is processed to provide the highest quality histology specimens, and the other is sliced into 1 cm pieces which are stored as a research and diagnostic facility.
