One of several memorials erected to the memory of Queen Eleanor of Castile, wife of King Edward 1 of England in the years following her death in 1290. The memorials, in the form of highly decorated crosses, were erected at stopping points on her body's  journey from Lincoln to be buried in Westminster Abbey in London, and this one is in Geddington, Northamptonshire.
