Dame Kathleen Ollerenshaw, a noted English mathematician who has written many academic papers on most-perfect pan-diagonal magic squares, speaking at an event to celebrate her 100th birthday. Dame Kathleen is also an astronomer who has travelled many thousands of miles to observe astronomical events. Her political interests led to her being the Lord Mayor of Manchester in the United Kingdom and her work in education policy earned her an award of DBE (Dame of the British Empire).
